Overview of PREP  

PREP = Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program

Goal is to teach skills   and attitudes associated with successful marital adjustment before problems develop. Even after couples have developed negative styles, PREP can help change the negative impact on the marriage, if the couple is committed to improving the relationship.  

The program includes:       

*communication skills

*problem solving skills

*ground rules for handling conflict and promoting intimacy.

Other crucial topics include:

*commitment,

*forgiveness

*friendship  

*Sensuality

*Core Belief systems

*spiritual intimacy (C-PREP)

The PREP approach is based on the following assumptions:          

First,  all couples will encounter problems because we live in a fallen world and many imperfect people.  

Second, a couple's ability to handle conflict and disagreements well is not only the single best predictor of future marital happiness, poor handling of such differences will destroy a marriage with certainty.  

“Therefore, it is not the presence or absence of problems in the relationship that determines how a couple will do in the future, but rather it is the way those differences or disagreements are handled”

Third,   couples can learn skills and attitudes that greatly enhance their ability to have excellent marriages!  

 Practice these new skills with just your partner (or  with a trained coach)

also available is the Christian version: Christian - PREP is designed to teach couples the attitudes and skills necessary to enhance and improve their marriages from a solidly Christian viewpoint.  

Basis:  that God is the designer of marriage and designed marriage for great intimacy expressed in "being one."   Many if not most couples are unable to achieve a lasting oneness characterized by joy and fulfillment in God's design for marriage...  this workshop will help you discover how!  Includes all the elements of PREP with Biblical principles and references interwove.

PREP or C-PREP   presents couples with powerful tools and 

concepts so that they can develop and maintain a stronger marriage for years to come. Not only are couples taught how to communicate more effectively by learning how to speak and listen, but they are also taught how to stop destructive interchanges. The ability to handle conflict better and stop destructive behavior is one of the most powerful things couples can be taught to significantly improve their chances of having marriages which bring honor to God and joy to themselves.
